There's a lot of things I don't understand, there's a lot of things other people don't understand, but this, this I just don't get.
So you start education at an early point in your life and you stay on in education for a number of years, in primary school everything seems pointless, the same in secondary school but then you start to realise that everything becomes so so important, every single action will effect something/somebody. Most people realise this, they take action they control their behaviour they do stuff that will effect their life in a good way, not the opposite, but then you get those few people who just don't seem to care whatsoever, they think that everyone else/everything else around them will get them somewhere in life. They expect to be able to become famous without hardwork or without trying. They think everyone is smaller than them and that they can do what they like when they like. (Now I own up to this one and I'm sure everyone else does too) They spend far to much time on the internet or on their mobile phones, thinking they have a social life but surely the meaning of social life is to talk face to face and meet up with people and actually know the person. They spend far to much time smoking or drinking or doing something else illegal to make themselves look "cool" when really they look stupid. They don't think that any part of education matters, they think everything was handed to everyone on a silver platter and that the same will happen to them and no matter how hard you or anyone else tries you can never get into their heads that all of this matters, that if they keep going at this rate they will never gain anything out of life and they will never get anywhere. While the so called "nerds", "geeks", "dorks" or whatever other stupid names they call people who actually care, will be working their way up the business ladder, working hard for what they have deserving what they have, these other people who didn't care about their education will be at some rubbish office job or working at some fast food shop and looking back at their education and thinking how they got here, thinking how they didn't do enough, thinking about what they could have done.
I guess what I'm trying to say here is actually it's good to be the "geek", it's good to care, you shouldn't be embarrassed about it and if you don't care maybe you should think about how this is going to effect you later on in your life.
